This illustration highlights the standard bearing arrangement used on all Vturn CNC lathes where high rigidity coupled with high speed is required. The NN type bearing uses two cylindrical roller bearings in the one casing to absorb high radial loads, allowing high speeds to be obtained while maintaining good rigidity. The angular contact thrust ball bearings are mounted directly behind the forward roller bearings to allow the spindle to absorb axial loading, i.e. heavy drilling or boring.
